1. Accessing the Profiles and Data Sets Section
To begin working with profiles and data sets:
- Navigate to the Data Library section in your admin interface.
- Look for the Profiles and Data Sets subsection. Here, you’ll find tools to create profiles for data groups and reusable data sets.
2. Creating a Profile for a Data Group
Profiles link specific data points to a product or set of products.
Steps to Create a Profile:
Choose a Data Group:
- Go to the desired Data Group (Strict Allowed or Partially Allowed).
- Select the data points that you want to include in the profile.
Create a Profile:
- Click on the Create Profile button.
- Provide a unique name for the profile that reflects its purpose (e.g., "Product Dimensions - Shoes").
Save the Profile:
- Review the selected data points and translations.
- Click Save to store the profile for future use.
3. Attaching a Profile to a Product
Once a profile is created, it can be attached to one or more products.
Steps to Attach a Profile:
Open the Product Details:
- Select the product to which you want to attach a profile.
- Go to the Product Summary section.
Attach a Profile:
- Select the data groups that you want to use.
- Select an existing profile from the dropdown or search by its name.
- Click Attach Profile to link it to the product.
Save Changes:
- Once attached, review the linked data points and ensure they align with the product specifications.
- Click Save.
4. Creating a Reusable Data Set
Reusable data sets are collections of data points that can be applied across multiple profiles and products.
Steps to Create a Data Set:
Go to the Data Sets Section:
- In the Profiles and Data Sets subsection, click on Create Data Set.
Select Data Points:
- Choose data points from the data groups you want to include in the data set.
- Add translations where necessary for global consistency.
Name the Data Set:
- Provide a descriptive name to identify its purpose (e.g., "Size Chart - Clothing").
Save the Data Set:
- Review the selected data points and translations.
- Click Save to finalize the data set.
5. Using Data Sets in Profiles or Products
You can use data sets to simplify profile creation and ensure uniformity across multiple products.
Steps to Use a Data Set:
Incorporate Data Set in a Profile:
- While creating or editing a profile, select the data set from the Data Set dropdown.
- All data points from the set will be included automatically.
Directly Apply Data Set to a Product:
- In the Product Details section, go to the Profiles tab.
- Select the data set you wish to apply and attach it to the product.
Save Changes:
- Ensure the data set is applied correctly and save the updated product details.
